Tignanello Rosso Toscana IGT 2020 by Marchesi Antinori, 0.75l bottle.
It was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first modern red wine blended with non-traditional varieties (such as Cabernet), and among the first red wines in Chianti Classico not to use white grapes. Tignanello is a milestone. It is produced with a selection of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
2020 in Chianti Classico began with a mild and dry winter and, only in the final part of March, was it characterized by a short cold period; these climatic conditions favored an earlier budding of the vine. The moderately rainy and rather cool spring preceded a hot summer, free of thermal excesses, and characterized by some rainfall events which allowed the bunches to grow optimally. The month of September, during which the harvesting operations began, was characterized especially in its final part by light rains which favored the completion of the phenolic maturation of the grapes. The harvest was rather concentrated, from September 20th to October 9th, and began with Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc to end with Cabernet Sauvignon.
